Come on! How could a book with a title like that NOT get five stars? Why are there a bunch of swans on the cover?

I can't say how disappointing this book is. Its chatty and informal style does nothing to give confidence that the numerous holes in the logic are gappable. The suspicion that Diamond is cynically cashing in on the "By the author of the Pulitzer Prize winning 'Guns, Germs and Steel'" stamped on the cover is unavoidable.
I hope they sell enough to justify destroying Diamond's literary-scientific reputation.

Diamond spends twenty one laughable pages on male lactation. What's next? How about implanting a uterus? After all, men are stronger and could probably carry babies better.
Big game hunting by the males of indigenous tribes was probably more effective when there was more game. But, for Diamond, it leaves the question open as to "What are men good for?"
My question is "What is Jared Diamond good for?"

No animal has sex with the idea of procreation in mind, other than humans. Therefore, Jared's suggestion that humans are the only animals that have sex without the idea of procreation in mind is the greatest idiocy ever expressed in our galaxy!

I could go on, but I trust you got the point.
